Nalanda received a cluster of facilities for the students benefit courtesy, Nalanda Junior Old Boys’ Association, the Ministry of Education and other well wishers and these were declared open on 17th September 2018. The opening was graced by Secretary to the Ministry of Education Mr. Sunil Hettiarachchi. Religious rites were observed at the “Nalanda Budu Medura” prior to the commencement of the marathon opening of the new facilities.

The cricket scoreboard received a face lift including the installation of an electronic clock and colour washThe senior section canteen which was damaged in the November 2017 storm was repaired by the NJOBA and will yet again start to serve students with their daily sustenanceThe dancing room was a project funded by the Ministry of Education and will be a valuable resource for students following dancing as a subjectThe primary section computer lab received an extensive renovation with a fresh look and this was one of the main facilities made available to students.

The Tennis Courts which was a much felt need since the sport was revived after a long lapse which, is set to develop accomplished Tennis players being declared open by the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Mr. Sunil Hettiarachchi
